Done - Man Utd agree £35million deals to secure signing of Daniel James”

Manchester United have completed the signing of Wales winger Daniel James from Swansea City for an initial fee of about £15m.

Solskjaer welcomed the signing as he embarks on a major rebuilding project at United over the summer.

Daniel's potential is limitless but there have been question marks over his ability to make the leap from the Championship, leaving fans with a rather mixed reaction.

After an impressive comeback at the Parc des Princes in the Champions League, his appointment was made permanent but since then United's form has dipped drastically and they slumped to an underwhelming sixth place finish last season following some pretty uninspiring performances; condemning themselves to a place in the Europa League for the 2019/20 season.

The Welshman turned heads for his terrifying speed, reaching 36 km/hr - just one km/hr shy of Arjen Robben's world record (37 km/hr).

The 21-year-old has already suffered disappointment and heartbreak in his short career with a move to Leeds United breaking down six months ago which bought public frustration from James. And the 21-year-old has admitted he can not wait to get started.

"Daniel is an exciting young winger with lots of skills, vision, exceptional pace and a good work ethic", said Solskjaer.

"The 21-year-old Wales global made his professional debut for Swansea City in February 2018 and his senior Wales debut in November 2018, having previously represented the nation at various youth levels".

The transfer has now been formalised with the global transfer window having officially opened on June 11 and the 21-year-old becomes United's first signing of the summer.

'This is an incredibly proud moment for me and my family, however, it is tinged with sadness that my father isn't able to share this experience with us. "I am looking forward to working with Ole, meeting the team and getting started". Thank you to everyone who has shown faith in me.
