Pakistan to take on South Africa in World Cup clash”

We're trying, but it's just not good enough.

Pakistan will be taking on South Africa today (Sunday) in a match that will decide who will be knocked out of the ICC Cricket World Cup 2019.

England will face India, New Zealand and Australia next - all three of which are tough teams to beat. Their fixture against Sri Lanka was washed out. In fact, there is no denying the fact Pakistan is the most unpredictable team in the game.

Even table-toppers New Zealand can lose their last three and not qualify - a scenario that is giving Pakistan hope.

"What I do know is. when their backs are to the wall, we get some good performances out of them".

"I don't think we'll ever have a flawless answer for that because he's probably biting on too much", du Plessis said on Sunday when asked about the fast bowler's workload.

"But that challenge we are going to have as a team all the time".

Arthur said Pakistan, who stunned England earlier in the tournament, can beat any team if they play to their potential. "We are alive and kicking", said Arthur, whose team's only victory in the tournament before Sunday was a shock win against hosts England. We are very firmly in the World Cup.

New Zealand, Australia, India and England, these four teams definitely have an edge over the remaining ones in race to the semis.

Even with the threat of rain hovering over the contest, they made no effort to come anywhere close to the required run rate needed to win under the Duckworth/Lewis calculations for weather-shortened matches.

And, although they kept alive their slender last-four hopes by beating South Africa on Sunday, Arthur admitted the India loss left him feeling desperately low.

"That was why it hurt us so much this last week. because every time they go out and represent Pakistan, they are incredibly proud about it". They have dropped as many as 16 catches in the tournament till now, including an astonishing six against South Africa.

"Our problem is we haven't put three disciplines together yet in any game", said Arthur whose team scored 308-7 against South Africa before restricting them to 259-9.

But some fans feel the South Africa-born coach's words are in bad taste, given Pakistan's former coach Bob Woolmer died of natural causes during the 2007 World Cup.

Underlining Pakistan's mercurial nature, the 14-run win over top-ranked England followed their seven-wicket defeat against the West Indies, when they were shot out for 105 in their opening game.
