Teacher at Prince George's School Is Engaged to William's Friend

Teacher at Prince George's School Is Engaged to William's Friend”

It is expected that William will be an user at the wedding and the Prince George and Charlotte will also be involved in the ceremony.

Last week, Thomas proposed to Lucy Lanigan-O'Keeffe, the assistant headteacher at Thomas's Battersea, the school Prince George has attended since 2017.

Thomas van Straubenzee popped the big question to Lucy Lanigan-O'Keeffe last week - to which she said yes.

Their wedding was held at her family's ancestral home Alnwick Castle, which doubles as Hogwarts in the Harry Potter films.

The van Straubenzees attended Ludgrove School in Berkshire with William and Harry, as did their late brother Henry, also a close friend of the princes, who died in a vehicle crash aged 18. He was previously married to Lady Melissa Percy.

She is originally from Co Kilkenny, Ireland, and her father is barrister Stephen Lanigan-O'Keeffe.

Ms Lanigan-O'Keeffe has had contact with Prince George during her outdoor learning and mindfulness classes at the school's Battersea site.

And Charlotte is also set to join her brother at the school when the new term starts in September.

Both the Cambridges and the Sussexes are also close with Thomas' younger brother Charlie, for whom Prince Harry was best man at his 2018 wedding to Daisy Jenks.

It has even been reported that he may become baby Archie's godfather when he is christened in July.

William and Harry are patrons of the Henry van Straubenzee Memorial Fund set up by his parents.

When Prince William went to New Zealand in 2005 for his first tour overseas, Thomas was with him on the Queen's suggestion.

And fun fact: Prince William is going to be an usher at their upcoming wedding, which I really hope involves him languishing at the end of aisles and telling confused people where to sit.
