Black bear enters Butler Creek home, naps on mudroom shelf

Black bear enters Butler Creek home, naps on mudroom shelf”

According to the Missoula County Sheriff's Office, deputies were called to the home just before 6 a.m. for reports of a black bear stuck inside, KTLA sister station WJW said.

A black bear that became locked inside a Montana residence made itself at home and took a nap on a shelf in a closet after ripping the room apart.

Deputies then knocked on the mudroom window, however the bear appeared unimpressed. "He slowly stretched, yawned and, unamused, looked toward the door", read a Facebook post from the Missoula County Sheriff.

Once on the scene, deputies discovered that bear somehow managed to open the front door and deadbolt the door from the inside. But, their efforts were just met with bear yawns.

That's when a Montana Fish, Wildlife and Parks biologist was summoned, so the bear could be tranquilized and relocated.

Police said the owners of the house were happy he was evacuated safely, yet won't before long overlook when this interloper came searching for his bear necessities! Before joining Weird News Ledger, Jessica worked as a national political reporter for Postmedia News.
