It's muttonchops versus moustaches in new trailer for 'The Current War'

As Edison and Westinghouse grapple for who will power the nation, they spark one of the first and greatest corporate feuds in American history, establishing for future Titans of Industry the need to break all the rules. Edison's initial efforts are obstructed by businessman George Westinghouse, played by Michael Shannon, and his business partner Nikola Tesla, played by Nicholas Hoult, come up with Tesla's own AC electrical current.

Three brilliant visionaries set off in a charged battle for the future in The Current War, the epic story of the cutthroat competition that literally lit up the modern world. "Today the impossible becomes possible, and the man who controls that current controls the future", Cumberbatch's Edison says in the trailer. "But if you prefer to have what I call a legacy, you leave the world a better place than you found it".

The trailer then suggests that Tesla and Westinghouse work together to take down Edison, since his work will supposedly set them back 20 years.

The movie was originally scheduled for release after its 2017 Toronto International Film Festival debut before falling into limbo following the Harvey Weinstein controversy.

But now The Current War is on track to light up screens this October, and the official trailer from the newly formed 101 Studios looks intriguing.

Director Alfonso Gomez-Rejon told EW that the wait for his movie to be released was "painful" and felt like "a lifetime in hell", even admitting that "it's been hard to move on". The movie also serves as a Marvel reunion between Doctor Strange and Spider-Man, as Tom Holland will also show up to share a few scenes with his old Avengers co-star Cumberbatch.

The Current War opens in select theaters on October 4, 2019, and everywhere on October 11, 2019!
