"MS Dhoni Absorbs All Pressure": Jasprit Bumrah Backs Former India Captain

India wicketkeeper-batsman MS Dhoni had mixed reaction over his batting in the match against the West Indies at Old Trafford on Thursday.

It was his second consecutive low score in the ongoing tournament but this time the dismissal left him disappointed as well. In reply, West Indies were all out for just 143.

The incident occurred when Kemar Roach bowled a length delivery wide off the crease that angled into Rohit and went through his bat and pad before being caught by wicket-keeper Shai Hope. On-field umpires Richard Kettleborough and Richard Illingworth, third umpire Michael Gough and fourth official Aleem Dar levelled the charges. The article relates to "showing dissent at an umpire's decision during an global match".

Meanwhile, India had also finished as the runners-up during the 2003 edition of the World Cup besides also ending as the semifinalists thrice i.e in 1987, 1996 and 2015. However, after the match, Rohit took a subtle dig at the third umpire's decision through Twitter.

During India's Innings, when Virat Kohli was batting, an incident happened which numerous viewers did not notice. Rohit did not write anything but made his displeasure clear by posting two emojis.

India, who are now standing at the top spot in the ICC ODI Rankings, are now placed at the second position with five wins from six matches they have played so far in the quadrennial event.

The legendary batsman initially praised the partnership between Dhoni and skipper Virat Kohli (72 off 82), which according to him gradually picked up.
