Paul Rudd joins next 'Ghostbusters' film

Paul Rudd joins next 'Ghostbusters' film”

Paul Rudd has said he is "sliming himself" over joining the cast of Jason Reitman's new version of Ghostbusters.

"When I heard they were gonna call me, well, as you can imagine, I almost slimed myself", Rudd said in the video. Please update your casting notes accordingly, and do stay tuned for more on Jason Reitman's Ghostbusters as further updates become available.

As of now, the plot for Ghostbusters 2020 is still under wraps, but I imagine it's going to involve some kind of distant relative of an original Ghostbuster trying to kick off the business again.

Paul Rudd has joined the cast of the Ghostbustersreboot and he is very excited about it.

They will be joined by a host of new stars including Paul Rudd. Rudd will reportedly play a teacher in the fim, so we can't be sure if he'll strap on a proton pack at some point (or maybe the slime-fighting technology has advanced beyond energy streams). Reitman has Ghostbusters lineage, with his father, Ivan Reitman, directing the original Ghostbusters in 1984 and the sequel in 1989.

He has co-written the screenplay with Gil Kenan.

Rudd further adds that he is so excited to be a part of this film and can not conain his joy. "Like f**k us. We [don't] count", Leslie Jones commented on Twitter in January. Carrie Coon is also in talks to appear in the film. Finn Wolfhard (Stranger Things, IT) will also star. But fear not, because a new movie will arrive next year, and the cast is looking quite promising. Ray Stantz alongside Bill Murray as Dr. Peter Venkman and Harold Ramis as Dr. Egon Spengler and Rick Moranis as Louis Tully in the first "Ghostbusters" film.

What the Variety report reveals though is that the film has an official title, and that title is Ghostbusters 2020 - which is a ridiculously silly name.
