Cyberpunk 2077 to have multiplayer, CD Projekt Red developing sequels

Cyberpunk 2077 to have multiplayer, CD Projekt Red developing sequels”

Each of the three Cyberpunk projects reportedly are being developed by their own teams, while a fourth team is continuing development on The Witcher card game spinoff Gwent.

Whatever could it be? CD Projekt has previously said that multiplayer is something that the developer was considering for Cyberpunk 2077, but always reiterated that the game would launch as a single player title only. CD Projekt stated previous year that Cyberpunk 2077 would not include a multiplayer component at launch, so this will be welcome news to fans disappointed by the absence of the popular feature.

Cyberpunk 2077 is set to be heading to PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC on 16th April 2020.

According to a report from Bankier, Polish developer CD Projekt Red has three Cyberpunk projects in the works, including 2077.

It shouldn't be expected that the team is already working on a sequel for Cyberpunk 2077, so expectations should be tempered to things like DLC, or content expansion. Kiciński also added that the next title that they release will be one of the other projects that they are working on in the Cyberpunk universe. It remains to be seen though whether the game will feature this multiplayer mode at launch or via a post-launch update.

According to IGN, the third Cyberpunk game in development is a multiplayer-focused addition. While making your character, you'll be able to choose between three lifepaths, which will influence how you'll begin in the world of Cyberpunk.

Speaking during a chat with VG247, Cyberpunk 2077's lead quest designer, Pawel Sasko, revealed that your starting location and background are strongly connected to whatever choice you make in regards to your Lifepath.
