Maybe I’m super strong - Serena Williams baffled by Wimbledon fine

Maybe I’m super strong - Serena Williams baffled by Wimbledon fine”

Speaking after partnering Serena Williams to another mixed doubles win at Wimbledon, the Scot confirmed NY would come too soon, despite previously saying he was targeting the tournament.

Williams reached the Wimbledon semifinals Tuesday by gutting out a 6-4, 4-6, 6-3 win over 55th-ranked Alison Riske. "It's going to be a huge challenge but I'm really looking forward to it".

And she had only a few hours from the end of her singles match to prepare for her doubles one, and she got a little help from her daughter, Olympia, who will be two years old in September. "It was time for me to apologize to the person who deserved it the most".

Bookmakers list Williams as a -360 favorite (risk $360 to win $100) in the latest Williams vs. Riske odds, with Riske getting +290 (risk $100 to win $290) as the underdog.

"It's been fun being on the court with Serena so far".

And when asked about the incident in a post-match news conference, Williams explained she is confused as to why she was handed such a high fine, joking she actually has super-human strength like a character in the Avengers film series.

How could Ashleigh Barty accept her loss to Alison Riske in Wimbledon fourth round on Monday?

Riske converted all five break points she created, while Williams needed 16 opportunities to break six times.

Williams' potential opponents in the final are No. 7 Simona Halep and No. 8 Elina Svitolina, who meet in the other semifinal.

Halep was broken in her first service game as Zhang raced to a 3-0 lead in the first set, and the Romanian faced four more break points at 4-1. Williams has seven titles on the grass of the All-England Club and was runner-up three times. She is now ranked 27th and lost in the first round at this year's Wimbledon tournament.

Williams, the 11-seed, dismantled Carla Suarez Navarro 6-2, 6-2 to move one step closer to her eighth Wimbledon crown at age 37.

This isn't the first time the superstar has had to fork over cash for damaging a court.

Williams will face Barbora Strycova in the last four after the Czech ended Johanna Konta's hopes with a 7-6 (7-5) 6-1 triumph on Centre Court.
