Zion's Summer League exit just 'precautionary'”

According to Gary Washburn of the Boston Globe, Silver has already spoke to Pelicans executive vice president of basketball operations David Griffin about the status of Williamson. It was later revealed that he wouldn't be playing any more Summer League games as the team wanted to make sure his health was up to par.

Hayes and fellow rookie Nickeil Walker-Alexander, who is also making his first start after Summer League, both impressed in the first half against New Orleans.

"It's very frustrating because, you know me, I'm a competitor and whenever I can play, I want to play", he later added.

Williamson is not expected to play for the Pelicans again this summer.

"Now I just hone my craft and get ready for the season".

On Friday, when Williamson made his debut, the atmosphere in the building was even more raucous.

The Pelicans wrap up their Las Vegas commitments on Wednesday when they face the Cleveland Cavaliers. According to Malika Andrews of ESPN, Williamson confirmed that the knee injury is nothing serious, and that the decision to sit him out is "precautionary".

It's safe to say that Zion Williamson's professional debut didn't go exactly as he'd hoped. "We have so much young talent, but older talent too, I'm curious how well it's going to work".

The night wasn't just about one dunk for Hayes either he played a heck of a ballgame overall.
