Rich Energy trying to save Haas deal, blames ‘rogue’ individual

Rich Energy trying to save Haas deal, blames ‘rogue’ individual”

Haas team principal Guenther Steiner has confirmed that Rich Energy's branding will remain on the team's cars, motorhome and more at the British GP, despite the company posting a tweet claiming to have terminated their contract.

The title sponsorship deal was followed up with a burst of activity on Rich Energy's increasingly vocal social media accounts, which regularly took aim at rivals Red Bull.

However, nine races into the 21-race season, Rich Energy have terminated their sponsorship deal with Formula 1's lone American team, and in freakish fashion, nonetheless.

The judge cited as an example that when cross-examined about a claim to the media in February that 90 million cans had been produced, Storey explained that Rich "had produced 90 million cans, but had not yet filled and sold them".

"There's a commercial agreement in place, and I don't want to do anything here about it. When I speak, I speak, when I can not, I don't speak", he said.

"I would like to tell you more, I hope you respect that", said the Italian.

"They will be on the vehicle this weekend", he said of the logos, "and the rest, we will sort out as we go forward".

"It's important, but at this moment in time, it's part of the job and you need to deal with it", he said.

"You can do without it but it's not like I'm up at night thinking about it", he said. "For me what is more important is to get the vehicle back where we want to be, and that is our focus". That is our focus.

"We all have things in our jobs we enjoy more and which we enjoy less".

"We are being professional about it and I think I'm known to be professional".

Echoing Steiner's "I would like to tell you more", there is so much more we would like to tell you but can not for fear of the obvious litigation that would follow. Following the news, a source told Autosport the following statement. Indeed, we were told that one "investor" was seeking funding in a bid to buy out some of their co-investors.

It's a unusual, nearly unbelievable tale, which in recent weeks has featured a few additional twists, yet still in keeping with the enigma that is Rich Energy.
