While a repeat of that epic appears unlikely, few matches in recent years have whet the appetite as this upcoming semifinal.

The Swiss kept his hopes of a ninth title in South West London alive by beating number eight seed Kei Nishikori 4-6, 6-1, 6-4, 6-4, to notch his 100 win at the All England Club.

And there was no stopping Nadal on Wednesday as he soaked up 22 thunderbolt aces to flatten Querrey 7-5 6-2 6-2 and reach his 32nd Grand Slam semi-final and seventh at Wimbledon.

Nadal faced a tough test early on against big-serving Querrey, whose first serves were topping the 130 miles per hour mark. A four sets victory gave Federer his fourth Wimbledon.

Let's take a look at the betting history behind Nadal and Federer's 13 Grand Slam matches dating all the way back to their first showdown in 2005...

The duo have not met at the All England Club since their titanic tussle in the 2008 final, when Nadal outlasted Federer over five thrilling sets that finished in the late evening gloom.

The Big Three's domination might have limited the emergence of younger talent, but Meagher believes fans should enjoy while it lasts.

Like Roenigk, Wertheim suggests there is a case to make Nadal favorite on Friday.

"Andy gets asked every question about his body and the US Open, " Williams said after losing to top-seeded Bruno Soares and Nicole Melichar, 6-3, 4-6, 6-2.

Nadal downplayed the suggestion they had improved appreciably, describing their respective evolution as a zero-sum game in which each had added elements to his game to compensate for what age has taken away. He has been just terrific in this tournament.

So who wins Federer vs. Nadal?

"The longevity of Federer and Nadal has been a testament to their imagination. [.] One thing Nadal has clearly never had is an attitude problem so we await tomorrow with appetites newly whetted".

However, Federer further added that he will obviously analyze Nadal's game with the help of Seve and Ivan before coming into the match.
