Minecraft Earth Closed Beta Sign-Up Available Now”

There's one more requirement that beta testers must absolutely meet in order to play Minecraft Earth from the beginning to the end of the closed beta.

Minecraft Earth, an all-new mobile AR version of the global sensation sandbox building and survival game, is coming to iOS later this month and Android "soon thereafter" according to the official blog.

As you can see from the video - which we've embedded below - you'll use the app on your phone as you walk around the real world in a manner not dissimilar to Niantic's Pokemon Go, with real-world buildings swapped out for Minecraft counterparts. It uses the actual world map to create the environment. On that map you'll find "tappables", objects you can tap that can earn you creatures-called "mobs" in Minecraft parlance-or different kinds of blocks and objects. It includes multiplayer seamlessly integrated where people can help "or hinder" your creations. Then, whatever you built becomes life-size.

I haven't tried it yet, but honestly, it looks impressive.

The developer confirmed that the Minecraft Earth closed beta will be kicking off "in the next two weeks" on iOS. Even though registration doesn't guarantee you a spot in the closed beta, the Minecraft Earth team has mentioned in its FAQs that they are planning on opening it up to "hundreds of thousands of players".
