North Korea fires 'multiple unidentified missiles' reports South Korea”

On July 25 North Korea tested two new missiles, describing the launch as a "solemn warning" against what it described as "South Korean warmongers".

North Korea fired multiple unidentified projectiles early on Wednesday, the Yonhap news agency reported, citing the South Korean military's Joint Chiefs of Staff (JCS).

The launch was made from the Hodo peninsula on Wednesday morning local time, South Korea's Joint Chiefs of Staff (JCS) says, according to Yohnap.

It wasn't immediately known exactly what North Korea fired or how far the projectiles flew.

The reported missiles come soon after a North Korean official told a White House National Security Council counterpart last week that working-level talks to revive denuclearisation negotiations with North Korea would start very soon.

The incident came just days after North Korea fired two missiles as a warning over Seoul's plan for military drills with the United States.

Only since then, North Korea has blasted the USA and South Korea over their plans to stage another round of joint military drills.

South Korea's military said the flight data of the weapon launched Thursday showed similarities to the Russian-made Iskander, a short-range, nuclear-capable missile.

Kim and Trump then met at the DMZ in June, and agreed to hold a new round of talks following two earlier summits in Singapore and Vietnam. A North Korean version could likely reach all of South Korea - and the 28,500 US forces stationed there - and would be extremely hard to intercept.
