Charli XCX Calls Taylor Swift Fans Children, Clarifies She Likes Children”

While talking about the experience of opening for Taylor Swift on her Reputation stadium tour past year, Charli said: "I'm really grateful that [Taylor] asked me on that tour".

Charli XCX tweeted out a statement to clarify that there was "no shade and only love here!"

The backlash was immediate and heavy from Swift's fans who accused the singer of being "ungrateful" for touring with one of the biggest artists on the planet.

She said she had explained that before joining Swift for her Reputation stadium tour she had been playing adult-only clubs, adding: "So to be on stage in front of all ages was new to me and made me approach my performances with a whole new kind of energy".

In fact, it seems as if Charli is totally done opening for anyone again. "As I say in the article and have said many times before, I am extremely grateful to Taylor for inviting me to open for her". "But I need to just own my own f-king s-t finally". One Swifty tweeted, "she's over. for a more healthy possibility lover out August 23" (This was a reference to one in all Taylor's personal quotes - she referred to her new album Lover as a "more healthy possibility" in a Tumblr publish shading Scooter Braun).

Another said, "She want some attention for her new album". One other fan shared, "Don't chunk the hand that feeds u".

What started as Swift fans angrily reacting to Charli's comments turned into an all-out Twitter war when Charli's own fans defended her. He has contributed to Discovery Magazine, Details and the Huffington Post. As a journalist for Nosy Media, Edwin mostly covers national news.
