Destiny 2's Cross Save Feature Launches 21st August

Destiny 2's Cross Save Feature Launches 21st August”

On a blog post, Bungie has officially stated that August 21 will be the day cross-save becomes available. Using this feature, players will designate one account as their "Active Account", and from that point on, can use that account's Guardians and rewards on other platforms.

However, to access content from Forsaken and Shadowkeep onwards, the expansions must have been purchased on the platform players want to move to.

Destiny 2 is transitioning to Steam on PC later this year, and a new trailer breaks down how easy the process will be for players. When it is enabled, players will have to choose which account to keep, with only one set of characters being available across all platforms. Basically, there is no mixing and matching of characters if you have different ones on PS4, PC, or Xbox One. You can switch between using cross-play, but there's a time-out of 90 days before you can switch back again if you do decide to do this.

Bungie also gave a few new details about Destiny 2's PC version. As announced with Shadowkeep, Destiny 2 is moving off of Activision's Battle.net launcher and onto Steam, something that was slated to happen alongside the release of the expansion.

In its PC move FAQ, Bungie explains that you'll get a one-time move from Battle.net to Steam that'll take everything you've purchased with you-including all game content and any Silver you've bought, as well.

This is because the game is coming to Steam for the first time on October 1, and from August 20 you can sign up here to migrate the accounts.
