Tebow done for season with cut hand

Tebow done for season with cut hand”

The laceration required several stitches.

Newsday writer Tim Healey tweeted that the deep cut on the finger won't heal in time for Tebow to play again this year. He was injured while fielding a ball in the outfield, Syracuse Mets manager Tony DeFrancesco told reporters on July 23.

The 2007 Heisman Trophy victor at Florida, Tebow appeared in 35 National Football League games with the Denver Broncos (2010-11) and New York Jets (2012) and passed for 2,422 yards, 17 touchdowns and nine interceptions. He missed the final two months of 2018 because of a broken bone in his right hand. That ended his All-Star season with Double-A Binghamton.

According to a report from Mets insider Tim Healey, an injury he suffered earlier in the season will cost Tebow the rest of the 2019 campaign.

Those talks were quickly squashed after Tebow got off to a slow start.

What's next for Tim Tebow?

Though even with a good season, Tebow's Major League Baseball chances took a hit thanks to the Mets' recent surge into the postseason picture.

Tebow finished the year hitting.163 with four homers, 19 RBIs and 98 strikeouts in 77 games.

The Mets expect Tebow, who turns 32 next week, back in 2020 for his fourth season of pro baseball.
