Donald Trump lashes out at critics on visit to shooting victims”

White House press secretary Stephanie Grisham said that Trump and first lady Melania Trump met with "victims of the tragedy while at the hospital" in Dayton and were "received very warmly by not just victims and their families, but by the many members of medical staff who lined the hallways to meet them".

"A lot of people try and say, 'Look at the good he's done here, bringing money and jobs, ' but I believe our generation is more focused on morals and not money", said 21-year-old college student Victoria Perches told Buzzfeed. The patients also refused to meet with Texas Sen. A mass shooting at Columbine High School in Colorado, in which 12 students, a teacher and the two student shooters were killed, occurred in 1999 during the Clinton administration.

He faced large protests from angry residents who demanded action on gun control and blamed his incendiary rhetoric for inflaming political and racial tensions across the country.

Trump said, "And, by the way, here is a great hero".

Police have still to establish a conclusive motive for the Dayton attack but say they have uncovered evidence "that the shooter was exploring violent ideologies".

Earlier Wednesday, the President met with city leaders of Dayton, Ohio where a second weekend mass shooting claimed the lives of nine people in an entertainment district.

The sister of a couple who was fatally shot in El Paso, Texas, over the weekend has called Democratic politicians "pure evil" for politicizing the shooting and casting blame on President Donald Trump.

"Very SAD to see Ohio Senator Brown, & Dayton Mayor Nan Whaley - LYING & completely mischaracterizing what took place w/ the President's visit to Miami Valley Hospital today", Scavino's tweet reads.

Both he and Ms Escobar have said they will attend a community event meant to honour those who died and "confront President Trump and white supremacy".

"I think my rhetoric brings people together", he told reporters before departing the White House. We love the people. But then he often quickly lapses into divisive tweets and statements - just recently painting immigrants as "invaders", suggesting four Democratic congresswoman of color should "go back" to their home countries even though they're US citizens and deriding majority-black Baltimore as a rat-infested hell-hole.

"I will be putting out a list of all people who have been so (ridiculously) accused!" he said. "I'm glad he did it in those hospital rooms", Brown said.

Dorothee Bouquet, who protested with her five-year-old daughter and two-year-old son, said she was there "to tell grown-ups to make better rules".

Mr Melendez, an army veteran and the son of Mexican immigrants, said he held only the shooter responsible for the attack. "No one's words would have triggered that". The El Paso shooter's writing echoed some of the US president's language, with Mr Trump having frequently used the term "invasion" to describe the situation on the US-Mexico border. Much of the city identifies as Hispanic or Latino and the suspect is thought to be the author of a text posted online which said "this attack is a response to the Hispanic invasion of Texas".

Two more U.S. communities can now add their own names to the ever-growing list of those that have been afflicted by the scourge of mass shootings across the country in 2019.

Video footage showed hundreds of people rushing from the area, with some taking cover behind vehicles or pounding on theatre doors seeking a place to hide.
