Epstein's guards were working extreme OT shifts

Epstein's guards were working extreme OT shifts”

If you or someone you know needs help, call the U.S. Suicide Prevention Lifeline at 800-273-8255, a free and 24/7 service that can provide suicidal persons or those around them with support, information and local resources. The official says the Justice Department was told Epstein would have a cellmate and be monitored by a guard every 30 minutes.

"The victims of Epstein's heinous actions deserved an opportunity for justice", he said on Twitter. One was working a mandatory overtime shift.

Clinton, although he did travel several times on Epstein's plane, never visited Little St. James, the Caribbean island where Epstein and others who he was acquainted with are alleged to have indulged in sexual activities with minors.

Every 15 minutes, guards are also required to make "another check on prisoners who are on suicide watch".

The suicide of alleged sex offender Jeffrey Epstein continues to mystify the nation, and how the 66-year-old was able to kill himself while incarcerated at the Metropolitan Correctional Center in NY is now under FBI investigation, and U.S. Attorney General William Barr has opened up an official probe into the case.

CNN reporter Jake Tapper blasted President Donald Trump on Sunday after the President retweeted a baseless conspiracy theory about accused child molester Jeffrey Epstein's apparent suicide. Beto O'Rourke said that Trump is trying to divide Americans and distract voters away from the issue of gun violence by fueling the conspiracy theory that Epstein did not commit suicide, but instead was killed by someone connected to former President Bill Clinton and former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton.

After Epstein's first suicide attempt, his cellmate, Nicholas Tartaglione, 51, a former NY police officer in jail and facing the death penalty for allegedly kidnapping and killing four men, was questioned in regards to the incident.

An attorney for Epstein, Marc Fernich, said in a statement that jailers at the Metropolitan Correctional Center failed to protect Epstein and to prevent the "calamity" of his death.

Attorney General William Barr, calling for an investigation by the FBI and the Justice Department's inspector general's office, said he was "appalled" to learn of Epstein's death while in federal custody.

Clinton spokesman Angel Ureña said the former president "knows nothing about the bad crimes Jeffrey Epstein pleaded guilty to in Florida some years ago, or those with which he has been recently charged in NY". He was set to go to trial next year.

Epstein was being held on federal sex trafficking charges.

A Miami Herald series on the plea deal and the new charges in July renewed attention on the plea deal and spurred outrage against it.

Palmer said he could not say whether or not the officers there were on overtime, as has been reported, but that he would not be surprised if the officers were on overtime, due to federal officer positions are down all over the country.

"I was pretty stunned".

Epstein's death came one day after thousands of documents were unsealed in connection with a defamation cause against his alleged recruiter that revealed dozens of high-profile names including former Maine Sen.

Brown said it's important to look at what happened with Epstein's suicide but also to keep the focus on the victims and on the case.

Epstein was arrested and charged with sex trafficking of minors in early July, but he had always been accused of sexual abuse and was often the subject of conspiracy theories.
