Pollard stars as South Africa win Rugby Championship”

This weekend's final Rugby Championship Test against Argentina in Salta provides the Springboks the ideal opportunity to secure a rare win at the competition in a World Cup year, believes centre Lukhanyo Am. A life long Manchester United and South Africa sports fan, he has been in love with sport since his first kick of a ball and tries to be a part of any sport in any way he can!

Santiago Cordero gave Argentina the lead with a second-minute try before Mbongeni Mbonambi went over in the 13th minute for South Africa.

"It's a great feeling for us to walk away with the title, but in the end it's a stepping stone for us going into the World Cup".

"The Pumas are a very hard team to play at home and they will be fired up for this one in front of their passionate crowd in Salta", warned Erasmus.

It was a particularly pleasing score for the Springboks, who have struggled this season to turn mauls into tries. Northwestern city Salta has hosted the teams three times with the Springboks winning twice and the Pumas once.

Sanchez had fewer opportunities and made the a lot of them, slotting the two penalties to keep the Pumas in touch for most of the half.

Pollard and Puma flyhalf Nicolas Sanchez then got locked into a kicking duel, exchanging penalties, before the 25-year-old South African dived over the tryline just before the break to make it 24-13.

Argentina have struggled for some years in an aspect of the game where they used to be world class and there was no sign of any improvement in Salta.

His second try came when the Springboks were down to 14 men, with scrumhalf Faf de Klerk in the sin-bin for joining a ruck from the side after the visitors conceded a series of penalties near their goal line.

As the match entered the final quarter, South Africa held a 32-13 lead against opponents who could not translate spells of pressure into points.

Wingers Makazole Mapimpi and Cheslin Kolbe added further tries in the 64th and 67th minute to complete the rout.
