Teen Pushes Birthday Gift BMW Into River Because He Wanted A Jaguar”

Residents said that he jumped out of the vehicle just before it reached deeper water and onlookers helped him to safety.

A young man in India apparently pushed into a river a BMW he received as a birthday gift. It is unclear if they managed to get the BMW out of the water.

However, after giving it a second thought, and perhaps realizing what a jerk he was, the man dove in with others to help rescue the auto.

"When the youth was plunging the high-end BMW vehicle into the river, he also made a video and put it on social media", the police said.

Police confirmed to local media that the owner, named only as Akash, had filmed himself pushing the auto into the river, reported the Deccan Herald.

His father, Sanjeev Kumar, defended his son and denied that Akash wanted a Jaguar.

Officials say no charges have been filed against the ungrateful man with claims that he has a mental deficiency and is undergoing treatment.

The BMW costs around 3.5 million rupees ($49,000) in India, while the Jaguars are considerably higher priced.

"He kept insisting that he be given a Jaguar, as a BMW is a little small for him and his friends inside", he said.

According to local media, the man's father is a wealthy landlord and the 22-year-old son already owned several SUVs.

"He said the vehicle was too small but we thought he will be OK".

"We never imagined he would do anything like this".
