Macan Turbo features a 2.9L biturbo six-cylinder

Macan Turbo features a 2.9L biturbo six-cylinder”

That output is 10% higher than the past Macan Turbo engine with 20% less displacement.

As with other Macan models, power is sent to all four wheels via a 7-speed dual-clutch transmission.

The German carmaker quotes a 0-62 miles per hour (100 km/h) time of 4.3 seconds, three tenths quicker than the old vehicle, and a top speed of 167 miles per hour (270 km/h) with the available Sport Chrono Package.

New for the Macan Turbo is the Porsche Surface Coated Brake (PSCB) setup introduced on the E3 Cayenne, comprised of tungsten-carbide coated discs which offers quicker response, reduced wear and up to 90% less brake dust compared to conventional cast-iron brake discs, according to Porsche. Bespoke 20-inch wheels are also standard, but many will doubtlessly upgrade to optional 21-inch units, regardless of their detrimental effect on ride quality. The specially developed fixed roof spoiler with its double-wing design is typical for the Turbo model. Turbo buyers also get body-color side mirrors and a sports exhaust system.

The Macan Turbo, the new flagship model in the range, offers particularly high-quality equipment. The high-quality ambience is rounded off by the Alcantara roof lining and the brushed aluminium interior package. It's also the most technically advanced, too, with a long list of driver assist technology, the Porsche Communication Management system within a 10.9-inch HD touchscreen and a Bose audio, to name just a few features, giving the Porsche a significant tech advantage over its arch-rival from Italy. It includes online navigation with real-time traffic information and smart voice control. That system assists steering, braking, and acceleration in a traffic jam.

The Macan Turbo is available to order in South Africa from now, with the first deliveries expected to take place in the fourth quarter of this year.

The consumption and Carbon dioxide emission values were calculated according to the new Worldwide Harmo-nised Light Vehicle Test Procedure (WLTP). These values can not be compared with the values calculated on the basis of the previously used NEDC measuring procedure.
