Jennifer Lopez Asked Ruth Bader Ginsburg for Marriage Advice

Jennifer Lopez Asked Ruth Bader Ginsburg for Marriage Advice”

Ginsburg has said that she'll continue to serve on the Supreme Court as long as she's able to do the job. Today at the 2019 Library of Congress National Book Festival in Washington, D.C. Ginsburg revealed Lopez and her fiancé called her up a month ago looking for some marital advice. It has kept me going through four cancer bouts.

While Ginsburg has said she wants to remain on the bench as long as she can do the job, liberals and conservatives alike keep a close eye on her health.

This past Monday, she was in Buffalo to receive an honorary degree, where the extraordinary demand for tickets forced a last-minute venue change to a nearby sports arena with a capacity of almost 18,000.

Ginsburg, 86, recently completed three weeks of radiation therapy at a New York City hospital to treat a malignant tumor on her pancreas. The Supreme Court will formally open its nine-month term on October 7. It's the best and the hardest job that I have ever had.

Lopez shares 11-year-old twins Max and Emme with her ex-husband Marc Anthony, and Rodriguez has two daughters - Natasha, 14, and Ella, 11 - form a previous marriage.

"Instead of concentrating on my aches and pains, I just know that I have to read this set of briefs, go over the draft opinion".

CBS News medical contributor Dr. David Agus, a cancer specialist, said radiation "is not a standard treatment for pancreatic tumors", but may be used "in someone who's very elderly and can't tolerate aggressive surgery or chemotherapy".

"Now it's been three years now", the mother of two said of her romance with the former Major League Baseball star. She had colorectal cancer in 1999, pancreatic cancer in 2009 and lung cancer surgery in December. That could be a crucial change on such issues as abortion, gay rights, gun control, immigration and Obamacare.

Ginsburg told the crowd Saturday that she'll be ready for the start of the next Supreme Court session, saying, "We have more than a month yet to go".

On Saturday, Ginsburg, whose latest book "In My Own Words" came out in 2016, spoke to an audience of more than 4,000 at Washington's convention center.

The interview, by NPR correspondent Nina Totenberg, touched on the court's work, lawyers' occasional confusion of Ginsburg with retired Justice Sandra Day O'Connor during court arguments, and Ginsburg's status as a liberal icon who's crossed over into pop-culture fame.

"J-Lo was especially interested in hearing if the justice had a secret to a happy marriage", CNN said of Ginsburg's description of the couple's visit. The pair married in 1954.
