Tesla's Musk, Alibaba's Ma to talk at Shanghai tech event this week

Tesla's Musk, Alibaba's Ma to talk at Shanghai tech event this week”

Musk's trip to China this week included a visit to a new Tesla site, and he also made an appearance at the World Artificial Intelligence Conference in Shanghai on Thursday. Assuming AI is fine, assuming there's a benevolent AI, the biggest problem the world will face in 20 years is a population collapse.

They also went on to talk about space travel, with Ma complimenting Musk on his attempts to journey into Mars via SpaceX while Musk noted China's advancements in that area, as well as how "inadequate" humans were against computers.

With over 28 million followers on his Twitter, Elon Musk is in the top 100 most followed accounts, just shortly behind Jenner sisters Kendall and Kylie. But their views on artificial intelligence (AI) and their interest in space exploration don't seem to be one of them.

"We are also thinking of having more hard ones on ice tracks in winter this year", Liu said, adding that more owners will be invited in the future.

Mr Ma said he was "quite optimistic" about AI.

Jack Ma spoke optimistically about AI to the crowd in Shanghai, talking about the job opportunities the technology will help create for the future workforce and predicting that people will spend less time doing trivial work and more time getting involved in creative tasks. All he has to say is: "I hope they're nice".

"Hopeless in terms of rendering, basically there is a smaller and smaller corner of intellectual pursuits that humans are better than computers". He guaranteed that humans will be far, far surpassed in every possible way by machines.

"Right now, we are already a cyborg", Musk added, "because we are so integrated with our phones and computers". It's this stark difference in intellectual capacity between AI and human beings that has Musk anxious for the future of our species.

At a Shanghai event with Alibaba's billionaire founder Jack Ma, Tesla's eccentric CEO compared the intelligence gap between humans and the AI-powered robots of the future to the gap between humans and chimpanzees. They mostly just care about other chimpanzees.

On the other hand, Musk stated that AI would make jobs pointless, and probably the last job that will exist for humans is writing AI software.

Ultimately, Musk believes we will be left behind as a human race, behind AI. That's for us. This time, he said "three days a week, four hours a day" in English.

"The opening of the Double Ma Meeting was a bit cold", it said, referring to the Mandarin Chinese translation of Musk's name.
