Apple’s Tile-Like tracking Device Spotted in iOS 13 Build

Apple’s Tile-Like tracking Device Spotted in iOS 13 Build”

It'll be the place to go to track all your Apple products, from iPhones to MacBooks.

Apple is reportedly working on its own Tile-like Bluetooth tracking device which can be attached to items like purses or keys. The tags will also be closely integrated with the new Find My app in iOS 13.

Apple users will supposedly be able to attach the tag to a device and keep track of its whereabouts through Apple's revamped Find My app.

As first reported by MacRumors, an internal build of iOS 13 suggests that the development of an augmented reality display is ongoing, despite some rumors suggesting the project had been scrapped. Details pulled from the software may not be accurate by this point in time and may change before iOS 13 is made available to the public.

Apple recently kicked off augmented reality art sessions through the Apple Store, four months after naming a senior executive to head up its AR marketing efforts. B389 is expected to be used as a tag for other items as its goal is defined as "tag your everyday items with B389 and never lose them again". The report further states that they "remain confident that augmented reality will play a role in the Apple's item tracking feature". The report notes that there will "safe locations" where the user will not be notified if the item is left in these locations.

Tag users will be able to send the location of their items to other iOS users, like friends and family members. If a tagged item is out of range, users will receive a notification, according to MacRumors. The internal build of iOS 13 reveals a red 3D balloon that can help users find a lost item after scanning through the iPhone.

It has been speculated repeatedly that Apple's AR glasses would arrive in 2020, but it is impossible to know when the device might arrive (if ever) at this early stage. That suggests that it may run on small, circular button-cell batteries (which will be user-replaceable) rather than rechargeable ones.
