Can rages at Sarri over Juventus Champions League snub

Can rages at Sarri over Juventus Champions League snub”

Emre Can has said he is extremely shocked after Juventus did not include him in their Champions League squad and is planning showdown talks when he returns from worldwide duty with Germany.

"It was extremely shocking for me", Can told reporters in Hamburg ahead of Germany's Euro 2020 qualifier against Netherlands.

"Me and my advisor talked to other clubs [during the summer transfer window]".

Midfielder Can, who joined from Liverpool on a free transfer in 2018, has been overlooked in favour of Sami Khedira, Blaise Matuidi, Miralem Pjanic and new signings Aaron Ramsey and Adrien Rabiot.

Can, in particular, took the news of his exclusion poorly, and expressed his anger at what he claimed was the manager's decision to go back on his word.

The Serie A side are in a group with Spanish club Atletico Madrid, Bayer Leverkusen of the Bundesliga and Russia's Lokomotiv Moscow.

Speaking about the omission whilst on worldwide duty with Germany, Can explained: "I am shocked and angry".

Do you think Can and Mandzukic should have been included in Juve's Champions League squad?

"I was told and promised different things by the club last week", Can said.

Can wasn't the only Juve player to face the axe in Turin as Mario Mandzukic was also excluded from Sarri's group stage squad, while club captain Giorgio Chiellini also misses out due to a serious knee injury.

"We have to cut six players from the Champions League squad", he said.
