Scarlett Johansson says she believes Woody Allen”

Woody Allen has a defender in frequent collaborator Scarlett Johansson.

In the wake of Farrow's allegations resurfacing as Allen finished work on A Rainy Day in NY in 2017, stars Timothée Chalamet and Rebecca Hall donated their salaries for working on the film to various charities; Hall's went to the Time's Up movement against sexual harassment and abuse, while Chalamet split his between Time's Up, The LGBT Center in NY, and RAINN (Rape, Abuse, and Incest National Network). "I love Woody", she told THR. "I really believe if people actually did vote, our government would look the way it's supposed to, but people just don't vote".

In a new interview with The Hollywood Reporter, the 34-year-old actress discusses working with Allen on a number of films, including 2005's Match Point and 2008's Vicky Cristina Barcelona. "I have been very direct with him, and he's very direct with me". He maintains his innocence, and I believe him ...

Johansson's fellow actors Anjelica Huston and Diane Keaton are among those who have also voiced their support for Allen.

Johansson said holding this opinion of Allen is hard "because it's a time where people are very fired up, and understandably".

Johansson, who was one of the first stars to become involved in the Time's Up movement, said it is "an intense time" in the entertainment industry. Oh, the thing I'm feeling. Allen has continually denied the allegations and was not charged.

Johansson posed for The Hollywood Reporter.

"I'd work with him again if he wanted me to", Alda told The Hollywood Reporter in January. She can not say that "things need to be stirred up" and that people are "rightfully" angry before turning around and saying that she does not believe women when it comes to Allen. You think she would know better than to once more invite controversy with statements like this, but after her whitewashing comments, this sadly doesn't surprise me. "But for now I don't agree with the public lynching that he's been receiving, and if Woody Allen called me to work with him again, I'd be there tomorrow morning".

Despite all of the headlines, Johansson claimed the two are still able to protect their privacy and enjoy a life in NY with her daughter mostly undisturbed.

"[Warren] feels like someone who is thoughtful and progressive but realistic. There's a strategy there".
