Vikings sign former 1st-round pick Josh Doctson

Vikings sign former 1st-round pick Josh Doctson”

The Vikings traded for Jones last August.

Doctson, who was the 22nd overall pick in the 2016 National Football League draft, was released by the Redskins on Saturday.

Former TCU standout Josh Doctson is expected to sign a one-year deal with the Minnesota Vikings, according to reports.

Two days after releasing 2016 first-round pick Laquon Treadwell, the Vikings are signing another 2016 first-round pick - Josh Doctson, per ESPN's Adam Schefter.

Doctson was selected with the No. 22 pick in 2016, but he missed 14 games during his rookie season with an Achilles injury. Doctson has 81 receptions for 1,100 yards and eight touchdowns for his career, compared to 56 catches, 517 yards and one score for Treadwell.

The Minnesota Vikings are adding a familiar set of hands for Kirk Cousins.

Minnesota also has an obvious need at wide receiver, considering the team kept only four on its initial 53-man roster. Expecting a ton of 12 personnel. If Doctson impresses, they found a competent No. 3 receiver for cheap.
