Woman boards flight with miniature support horse, surprises people

Woman boards flight with miniature support horse, surprises people”

Captured by several people, flying on an American Airlines flight from Chicago to Omaha, the pictures and videos of this unusual - and somewhat freaky - incident flooded various social media platforms.

"There was a small horse in line at the airport today and I'm curious about it", Twitter user Amberley Babbage said alongside a picture of Flirty with Hensley at the AA check-in desk. Even airports across the USA have tried out employing miniature horses to help flyers ease their travel stress. I love that Flirty is your service animal. If the service animal is not a dog, a cat, or a miniature horse, airlines can judge whether or not to permit the animal on board.

Hensley, a resident of Bellevue, Nebraska, who is reportedly allergic to dogs, paired up with Flirty in 2017, according to a recent article about the duo in the Omaha World-Herald.

Hensley also tried to clear up any confusion between a service animal and an emotional support animal, as service animals have undergone strict training to provide specific, protective services to those with disabilities. The Department of Transportation announced in August that miniature horses are valid support animals who are allowed to fly on commercial flights, according to Fox News.

Ms Hensley shared some of them on her Instagram account.

Not all the criticism of Flirty was negative, as one lady wrote, "I think it's great that Flirty was welcomed on your flight".

Luckily, the American Airlines staff were happy to accommodate Hensley and Flirty.

Several passengers on board - and patrons at the airport before and after take off - took to Twitter to post their own photos of the unlikely flyer.

Passengers onboard a flight were in for a huge surprise when a very unusual passenger joined them. Hensley suffers from a variety of ailments including: depression, severe anxiety, panic disorder and PTSD.
