Acer Tips 300Hz Gaming Laptop, $14,000 Gaming Chair

Acer Tips 300Hz Gaming Laptop, $14,000 Gaming Chair”

You might recall that Acer debuted its crazily expensive monster of a gaming throne last year at IFA, and at this year's show, it has a new spin on the Predator Thronos which is a third cheaper. But I can only assume Acer forgot about updating it until a few days before this year's conference when someone suddenly remembered it existed and in a blind panic bought a bunch of massage chairs off Amazon, popped them inside a Thronos cover and tacked the word Air onto the product name.

Both laptops feature impressive refresh rates, but the highlight of the lineup is the Predator Triton 500's 300Hz display. The Predator Triton 300 does not appear to be shipping to North America.

The Predator Triton 300 will be available in EMEA in Q4 starting at Euro 1299.

The Predator Triton 500 comes with a 300Hz 15.6-inch FHD display.

The Predator Triton 300 features a 15.6-inch Full HD IPS display with a 144Hz refresh rate and 3ms of response time. It runs on up to a 9th Gen Intel Core i7 processor and up to an NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1650 GPU.

Like something out of a sci-fi movie, the Predator Thronos Air looks like the type of thing future generations will strap into when embarking on a virtual journey. Also inside the cage is a adjustable keyboard and mouse table, as well as footrest and chair, which can naturally be tilted along with the monitor arm to deliver reclined gaming action.

If the base Predator Thronos Air isn't enough for you, then there are various custom options like a seat stabilizer which prevents the chair from shifting about during use, and a headset holder, camera, and cup holder (just don't try to take a sip of your drink while the massage feature is engaged - otherwise you might need the optional bib, too). Flip on the massage function to relax after a long gaming session.
