Cut by Raiders, Antonio Brown is a Patriot on eve of opener

Cut by Raiders, Antonio Brown is a Patriot on eve of opener”

Like Moss did in 2007, Antonio Brown has recently become a member of New England's roster after being let go by Oakland.

Just hours after Antonio Brown called on the Oakland Raiders to "release" him over reports that his guaranteed payout was voided by a massive $215,000 fine, the organization granted him his wish.

Of course, while this could strictly be an accounting maneuver, it also gives the Patriots the choice of keeping Brown for another year if the 2019 season goes according to plan.

In a not-so-shocking twist to the Antonio Brown saga, the Raiders have made a decision to void his guaranteed money and release him from his contract.

After winning another Super Bowl championship, things are certainly not boring for the New England Patriots going into the 2019 National Football League season.

"Now that Antonio is a free agent, we are focused on the future and I will immediately work on signing him to a new team", agent Drew Rosenhaus said.

Carroll chuckled and joked about the rich-get-richer aspect of New England and Tom Brady adding Brown.

Without Brown, the Patriots looked every bit like a team primed to make a run at another Lombardi Trophy in dismantling the Steelers.

What about the Miami Dolphins and New England Patriots? For all his cracks about eschewing technology and "My Face", Belichick knows everything that's going on.

Brown's release seemed to stem from reports that he was fined $215,073.53 - a move by the team that essentially voided the guaranteed pay he was supposed to receive from his almost $30 million contract. That allowed the Raiders to release Brown before the season opener without having to pay him more than his guarantees. It's tough, but if this is what you want to do, I think this is the best place to be. "I just want the man to play football". However, he is mad and angry with his former team who he never played a down for and it may have been a weak moment. Fortunately there is a ton of football to be played this season.

The Raiders have been counting heavily on Brown to spark an offense that lacked playmakers a year ago. Narcisco kept filming. He was in the editing process when Brown's marketing manager pointed out that it would be illegal to record Gruden without the coach's knowledge or approval.

On the other hand, Pittsburgh is still considered one of the NFL's elite teams, and oddsmakers generally put it in the top 11 or 12 teams likely to take home the Lombardi Trophy.
