Hurricane Dorian Deposited an Estimated $320000 of Cocaine on Florida Beaches

Hurricane Dorian Deposited an Estimated $320000 of Cocaine on Florida Beaches”

According to reports, at sometime around 8 a.m. on Tuesday morning, a concerned citizen stumbled onto a suspicious package in Melbourne's Paradise Beach Park.

A driver abandoned their Jeep on the beach as Hurricane Dorian hit Myrtle Beach.

The Bahamas has struggled for years with fighting the illegal drug trade. In examining it, the police officer found that the package was wrapped "in a way that was compatible with the use of narcotics", a spokesperson told the American media.

Visible on the outside of the brick is "D-I-A-M-A-N-T". It finally turned out to be a one-kilo brick of cocaine, which should be destroyed.

Melbourne police were now investigating the brick that had a word beginning with DIAMANT on the packaging. In June, $1 billion worth of cocaine was seized on a ship that docked in Philadelphia whose last port of call had been in the island nation, according to NBC News.

The brick's discovery comes a few days after a duffel bag stuffed with 15 kilos worth of cocaine washed ashore about 15 miles away in Cocoa Beach Friday.

In Orlando - the largest nearby city - one kilogram of cocaine has a street value worth approximately $20,000 to $30,000 Dollars ($27,000 to $40,000 CAD), police told NBC.

Hurricane Dorian's outer bands are reaching Florida's coast causing beaches to have crashing waves and choppy water.

The category two storm is moving slowly north along the eastern U.S. seaboard. The storm is expected to produce 5 to 10 inches of rain in the Coastal Carolinas, 3 to 6 inches along the Atlantic Coast from Daytona Beach, Florida to the Georgia-South Carolina line and 3 to 6 inches in southeast Virginia.
