Kawhi Leonard’s sister charged in deadly robbery of 84-year-old woman

Kawhi Leonard’s sister charged in deadly robbery of 84-year-old woman”

Kimesha Monae Williams was one of two people arrested and charged with robbing and killing the 84-year-old woman at the Pechanga Resort Casino in Temecula, California, located 120 kilometres (75 miles) southeast of Los Angeles. Williams and Townsel made off with an approximate $800 to $1,200 before being arrested and charged with robbery and murder.

On Saturday, Williams' aunt, Denise Woodard, confirmed to reporters that Leonard and Williams are brother and sister, but added, "He didn't have anything to do with this". Williams became arrested on September 3, and Assad died September 4.

He would not confirm if she was related to Leonard.

Investigators requested she be held as a effect of they were concerned her "prosperous' family would publish her bail - and that she'd skip city or hurt someone".

Both women were identified by investigators reviewing casino surveillance video as suspects in the beating death of Afaf Anis Assad, 84, of Long Beach, Sergeant Steve Brosche wrote in the report.

Leonard signed a three-year, $103 million contract with the Clippers in July after he led the Raptors to their first National Basketball Association title in June.

While Leonard wasn't involved in the crime at all, this certainly isn't a good look for him.

Wayne Brown, the victim's son-in-law, said he took Assad and her husband to the casino the morning of the alleged murder and about half an hour later, she was found badly beaten and unconscious on the floor of the bathroom. "'I am requesting NO BAIL to assure Williams" appearance in court and to keep innocent victims safe'.

Riverside homicide police asked the judge to hold Williams without bail, saying she might flee and that she "has family that are well-off and could post her bail".

Attempts to reach Leonard and the Clippers for comment were not immediately successful. Courtroom files sign Williams has an intensive prison history, including convictions for kindly theft auto and tried robbery.

The district attorney has not decided whether to seek that penalty or life in prison without the possibility of parole, Hall previously told the Press-Enterprise.
