Pakistan demands United Nations probe of India actions in IOK, fears 'genocide'”

India and Pakistan are expected to face off on the present time over Jammu and Kashmir on the ongoing UN Human Rights Council session in Geneva, Switzerland.

UN High Commissioner for Human Rights Michelle Bachelet voiced deep concerns at the impact of "recent actions by the Government of India" at the 42nd session of the UN agency.

"I am deeply concerned about the impact of recent actions by the Government of India on the human rights of Kashmiris, including restrictions on Internet communication and peaceful assembly, and the detention of local political leaders and activists". "I appeal to the government to ensure due process during the appeals process, prevent deportation or detention, and ensure people are protected from statelessness", she stated.

Questioned about Pakistani military's statement pledging to exercise all options over IoK, Ambassador Lodhi said that the intent of that statement was to say that Pakistan will stand by the people of Jammu and Kashmir no matter what.

India doesn't want USA help, or from any other third-party, and has let it be known for years now, maintaining that Kashmir and all other disputes with Pakistan can only be resolved bilaterally and only after Islamabad gives up using terrorism as a tool to reinforce its case.

Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi welcomed the statement by the United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights Michelle Bachelet regarding Indian tyranny in Occupied Kashmir. "I think it's a little bit less heated right now than it was two weeks ago and I'm willing to help them".

The foreign minister urged focused discussions on the two Reports of UNHCR, in the Human Rights Council (LoC) and a unanimous decision by this House to implement their recommendations made to India, Pakistan and foremost to the Human Rights Council.

"I get together with both states well", Trump said while reacting to a query on his evaluation of the problem between India and Pakistan.

Qureshi also called upon Tedros to play his role in providing basic health services to the 15 million Kashmiris, according to the statement from the Pakistan's permanent mission to the UN.

The update to the report published in July this year under Bachelet was equally critical about alleged human rights violations in Kashmir.

Meanwhile, late last month on the sidelines of G7 summit in France, Trump said he and Modi talked about Kashmir and he feels that both India and Pakistan can resolve the issue.

Biggest setback to Pakistan is the Organisation of Islamic Conference (OIC) has not openly supported it.

The near-total communications blackout has triggered global concern, with a group of United Nations human rights experts warning it amounted to "collective punishment" and risked exacerbating regional tensions.
