Apple's iPhone 11 launch fails to impress Asian markets

Apple's iPhone 11 launch fails to impress Asian markets”

An attendee looks at the new Apple iPhone 11 Pro during an Apple special event on September 10, 2019 in Cupertino, California. The companies fastest to capture that market will also be ideally positioned to serve the projected increase in demand that follows. "Seeing the iPhone as an aspirational product, many snapped up the mobile once prices were slashed". Apple also reduced the price of Apple Watch Series 3 to a starting price of USD199.

The extra camera on the new iPhone 11 models – a second cam on the base 11, a third on the Pros – are the highlight feature of the 2019 compared to the XR and XS from previous year, but the forecast is that they wont reverse the shrinking market share.

Apple also introduced an iPhone 11 Pro and larger-screened iPhone 11 Pro Max that will have starting prices of USD999 and USD1,099 respectively when they are available on September 20.

Analysts expect Apple to sell about 200 million iPhones in the next year (in addition to other devices), ensuring tens of millions of potential viewers for the subscription service. Those feelings didn't seem to change once the products were officially announced.

The iPhone XR that was launched past year saw uplift after the price drop and heavy promotional activities. The prices of iPhones aren't going down, they're staying mainly the same-but the value of the phones may be going up.

Apple even added a third camera for the new 11 Pro and Pro Max-without raising the price.

The iPhone 11 has a dual camera, which includes a second camera featuring an ultra-wide lens as opposed to a telephoto lens as in past devices. Improved depth cameras on the front of the phones enable slow-motion selfies ("slofies"), and despite some pre-emptive backlash against the feature's name on Twitter, slofies are likely to be popular with social media enthusiasts.

Like the other new models, the iPhone is powered by an "A13 bionic" chip made in-house by Apple and infused with machine learning as well as high-performance graphics and processing capabilities. But yesterday saw Apple cut the piece of its entry-level iPhone from $750 to $700.

That's a wee bit cheaper than Apple TV+'s existing competitors; Netflix plans start at $9.99 a month, while Stan's basic deal costs a single cent more.

It's true that some iPhone users who crave high speeds may be smart to hold off until next year to get a new phone.

With iPhone sales declining year over year for the past two fiscal quarters, investors are focusing on the growth potential for services.
