NJ man accused of doing ‘doughnuts’ on Trump’s New Jersey golf course”

The Hunterdon County man charged with breaking into the pop star's Rhode Island mansion has also been charged with causing about $19,000 worth of damage to Trump's golf club in New Jersey. During two separate occasions, he spun "donuts" on the green with his blue 2006 Ford Focus.

Two weeks earlier, Richard McEwan was arrested for allegedly breaking into Taylor Swift's beach home on Rhode Island.

McEwan was arrested Monday and charged with criminal mischief. The Westerly Sun newspaper in Rhode Island said that McEwan hopped a fence and broke a glass door to enter Swift's home. "He said he did it because 'it was polite'".

McEwan caused at least at least $17,000 in damage, police said. An employee of the golf course told police that McEwan had been playing loud music while he drove near the 11th hole. He managed to escape before police could arrive, although he left behind a black piece of plastic from his auto with the word "Ford" on it. Nonetheless, the police report states that the man caused more than $20,000 of damage to the course by driving his blue Ford onto Trump's property on September 3 and September 8.

It wasn't long before cops allege McEwan struck again, this time spinning his auto out near the 13th hole at 3:36 p.m. Sunday. A witness told police they saw a blue Ford compact auto with a Rutgers sticker being driven by a young white male.

Witnesses got a partial license plate and noticed a Rutgers sticker on the blue vehicle during the second joyride, according to the Somerset County Prosecutor's Office, which connected the auto to McEwan.

He was arrested Tuesday at his home in Hunterdon County.

Four days later, McEwan was back in New Jersey but his manners were nowhere to be found when he crashed Trump's favorite home away from the White House, officials say.

Anyone with information is asked to contact the Somerset County Prosecutor's Office Major Crimes Unit at 908-231-7100 or the Bedminster Township Police Department at 908-234-0585.
