Chandrayaan-2 orbiter sends high resolution images of moon

Chandrayaan-2 orbiter sends high resolution images of moon”

"This is best observed when a solar flare on the Sun provides a rich source of x-rays to illuminate the lunar surface; secondary x-ray emission resulting from this can be detected by CLASS to directly detect the presence of key elements like Na, Ca, Al, Si, Ti and Fe", the space agency said. The ISRO said, that Orbiter High-Resolution Camera (OHRC) gives high dimensional images of the lunar surface.

The ISRO chief, known for his calm and collected demeanor, received an outporing of support from across the country after the Chandrayaan 2 mission's lander Vikram failed to make a soft landing on the moon. It is capable of communicating with the Indian Deep Space Network (IDSN) at Byalalu, near India's southern city of Bengaluru.

The Moon travels through the planet's geotail for six days every 29 days, which means so does the orbiter.

"It is for the ISRO scientists to find out if Vikram will be able to talk to them or Chandrayaan's orbiter to restore the link", said NASA's Jet Propulsion Laboratory's spacecraft system engineering manager Ann Devereaux at an event, held to mark the World Space Week of the UN General Assembly. Thus Chandrayaan-2 also crosses this geotail and its instruments can study properties of geotail at a few hundred thousand kilometres from Earth. After an initial hiccup, it crossed all hurdles seamlessly.

The high-resolution digicam on board Chandrayaan-2 took an image of part of the Boguslawsky crater, positioned on the Moon's south pole.

JPL is a research facility which is part of the USA space agency National Aeronautics and Space Agency (NASA), housed in California Institute of Technology (Caltech) carrying out roboticA space and earth science missions.

Its been 26 days since the Indian Space Research Organization (ISRO) lost Vikram. India was trying to do something very, very hard.
