How much each golfer won at the Shriners Hospitals for Children Open

How much each golfer won at the Shriners Hospitals for Children Open”

Na - a Seoul native who now calls Las Vegas home - fired a 1-under 70 on Sunday, rallying back after a rough back nine to force a playoff with Patrick Cantlay. "I kept telling myself 'This is a playoff that I'm going to win". All of a sudden I felt like I was the underdog but I'm a fighter.

Heading to the weekend, Alena Sharp had a chance to win her first LPGA tournament, but it wasn't to be. "I hit it to about 25 feet and made a 25-footer that broke six feet for par".

"I think I had a second caddie".

Back on the green, Cantlay left his putt for a birdie well short, while Na's shot went past the hole.

But everything changed as soon as they hit the back nine, and Na's wayward drive led to a bad chip and a three-putt triple bogey seven, reducing his lead to a single shot after Cantlay's own bogey at the 10th.

Cantlay lost his late lead with a tee shot in the water on the 17th, and he lost the playoff by missing a par putt from just under 6 feet.

Cantlay, who won the Las Vegas title in 2017 and finished runner-up previous year, said his six-footer for par at the second playoff hole "broke a little more than I thought".

Adam Hadwin (66), also of Abbotsford, was 9 under, Roger Sloan (66) of Merritt, B.C., was 3 under, Mackenzie Hughes (71) of Dundas, Ont., was 1 under and Graham DeLaet (72) of Weyburn, Sask., playing in his first tournament in nearly two years due to a back injury, was 5 over. "All in all I'm playing really well and I'll take that momentum into next week".

Reigning U.S. Open champion Gary Woodland recorded a 69 to finished in a tie for 55th that included three-time Las Vegas victor Jim Furyk, who had a 70, while Phil Mickelson, playing in Las Vegas for the first time since 2005, shot 67 to finish 61st.

He opened with birdies at the first and second, but said his biggest putt of the day was a 22-footer to save par at the par-three fifth. But he could get no closer than 25 feet, and his putt hung on the right edge of the putt. Na poured his in, walking toward the hole before the ball dropped.

Tied after 72 holes, Na and Cantlay played the 18th twice more.

Na set a record by making 559 feet of putts over four rounds, the most since the PGA Tour developed its ShotLink system of measuring every shot of every player.

Cantlay did enough, however, to lie alone in second place on 20-under, with Pat Perez four shots back in third place after a 62.

Defending champion Bryson DeChambeau (68) sits back in a tie for 21st at 8 under in a group that includes Phil Mickelson (69).
