Rangers deal F Namestnikov to Senators

The Blue Shirts will also retain $750,000 of Namestnikov's $4,000,000 cap hit.

The Rangers traded the Russian forward to the Senators in exchange for AHL defenseman Nick Ebert and a fourth-round pick in 2021.

Namestnikov is in the final season of a two-year, $8-million pact he inked with the Rangers on July 1, 2018.

He spent parts of three campaigns with NY after being acquired from the Tampa Bay Lightning in the Ryan McDonagh deal in February 2018. In 2017-18, the centre had a career year, posting 22 goals and 48 points. The 25-year-old native of Livingston, New Jersey, was a seventh-round pick by Los Angeles in the 2012 National Hockey League draft.

Ebert, 25, has played in one game with the American Hockey League's Belleville Senators this season.

The Rangers now have nine picks in the 2021 NHL Entry Draft.
