Errol Spence Jr hospitalized after vehicle crash, was reportedly ejected from Ferrari”

Unified welterweight champion Errol Spence Jr is expected to survive after he was seriously injured in a one-car accident early Thursday morning in Dallas, according to police and local reports.

"The Ferrari veered left over the center median onto the southbound lanes and flipped multiple times ejecting the driver who was not wearing a seatbelt".

Authorities further confirmed to the t.v. station that Spence was the only person in the vehicle and they are still seeking witnesses and more information on the accident. He is now in the intensive care unit of the hospital, however, it is not believed his injuries, at this time, are life-threatening. Sources told Star-Telegram media partner the driver was Spence Jr., the 29-year-old superstar with a 26-0 record.

Police are investigating and have described the driver as being well-known.

In September, Spence defeated Shawn Porter on a split decision in an enthralling bout to add the WBC welterweight belt to his IBF strap.

Spence is from DeSoto, south of Dallas.
