Megyn Kelly returns to Fox and slams NBC News over Matt Lauer

Megyn Kelly returns to Fox and slams NBC News over Matt Lauer”

Pulitzer-winning journalist Ronan Farrow claims in his new book, "Catch and Kill", that NBC executives knew about sexual misconduct allegations against Lauer before 2017 and tried to keep it quiet while stopping him from reporting on similar allegations against film producer Harvey Weinstein.

Watch Megyn Kelly's entire interview with Tucker Carlson above.

Their investigation, based on 68 interviews, concluded there had been no complaints about Matt's behavior before the 27th of November, 2017.

Later that month two more women came forward to make complaints about Lauer after he was sacked, including one allegation of sexual assault in 2001.

She told Tucker Carlson Tonight on Fox News: 'There needs to be an outside investigation into this company.

NBC News President Noah Oppenheim rejected the reporting in Farrow's book earlier this week, claiming to employees in a memo that "Farrow's effort to defame NBC News is clearly motivated not by a pursuit of truth, but an axe to grind".

A harshly worded letter that was obtained by Fox News calls on parent company, Comcast's, board of directors to "override NBC's decision and launch a full investigation of sexual misconduct within the news division", allowed current and former staffers to speak out despite non-disclosure agreements and have an in-person meeting with sexual harassment victims and advocacy leaders.

In Farrow's book, Catch and Kill: Lies, Spies, and a Conspiracy to Protect Predators, he alleges NBC covered up for Harvey Weinstein alleged misconduct in order to protect Lauer. "They investigated themselves, that doesn't work".

She pointed out that NPR, Fox News, CBS News, and the National Football League all hired third-party investigators when they were under fire, but NBC refused to do the same.

"There is no additional investigation being launched. We are very confident in the report that was conducted", spokeswoman Hilary Smith told the Hollywood Reporter on Thursday.

'We fired Matt Lauer within 24 hours of learning what he did, and promptly launched a corporate investigation. Hillary added "it was worth noting" that every member of the team was female, and they weren't part of the News section of the network.

"No comment on that", Kelly told Carlson.

"The question is open as to whether (NBC) put dollars ahead of decency, about whether they were more interested in protecting their star anchor than they were in protecting the women of the company", Kelly told Carlson.

'The number one thing that needs to happen now is they need to release any and all Matt Lauer accusers from their confidentiality agreements.

'That's the situation where the receptionist is suddenly getting a seven-figure goodbye.

Kelly, who was sacked from NBC last October, called on the peacock network to release all of Lauer's accusers from their non-disclosure agreements (NDAs). Let's not hide anything. Do they all have a connection with Matt Lauer? "Release the women from their confidentiality obligations". The TVs star said that the fact that NBC chose to conduct an internal investigation - rather than hire a third party to conduct it - following Lauer's sex scandal, only shows that they are hiding something. "I ask NBC Universal to retain an outside investigator to look into sexual harassment and any coverup of sexual harassment at NBC News", she wrote in in the 2018 essay.
