Apple AirPods Pro tipped for launch in next two weeks”

According to China Economic Daily, the AirPods Pro may be launched in time for the upcoming holiday shopping season in the United States this year, but not as a replacement for the regular model.

The big differentiator will be noise-cancelling, it's expected.

A report from China suggests that Apple will launch the AirPods Pro with noise-cancellation for $250. That's been rumored for some time now, addressing one of the most frequent criticisms about the first- and second-generation AirPods, that they have minimal isolation from environmental sound.

Samsung has released its own wireless earbuds, Galaxy Buds, which offer six hours of battery life and can sync with both Android and iOS devices as well as Bluetooth enabled computers. The AirPods Pro might feature rubber ear tips, which could help with noise cancellation. Will it be as advanced as the tech used by the Sony WF-1000XM3 true wireless in-ears, for example? Furthermore, the charging case also seems to be wider than the previous AirPods.

Earlier reports indicated that Apple has been working on a brand new design for the AirPods, with iOS 13.2 beta code also hinting that an AirPods makeover is in the works. While the new AirPods are expected to arrive, we would suggest to take this rumour with a massive pinch of salt. The report from China Economic Daily also says that Apple has no plans of discontinuing the existing AirPods. That would allow Apple to have them on shelves by the holidays, it's suggested.

But just because they're announced and even released this year, doesn't mean they'll be widely available.

The Pro version of the earbuds will retail for $260, while the current non-Pro version of will continue to sell for $199.
