Google has a ‘secret’ security warning for Pixel 4 users”

Just like its competitor, Google still seems to be working out the kinks.

Face unlock on the Pixel 4 and Pixel 4 XL will successfully unlock the device when you are sleeping or your eyes are closed.

Google's upcoming Pixel 4 handset will ship with a glaring security hole in its brand new Face Unlock feature.

Well this is disappointing... it turns out the new way to unlock your Pixel 4 phone - face unlock - really isn't that secure.

What's their awesome, galaxy-brain advice?

Take outstanding dog photos with a new phone from, because you can get the Google Pixel 3 XL with 64GB of storage for $612.23 (regularly $1129.00) with free shipping, for a total savings of $516.77!

It means that if the Pixel 4's owner is asleep, unconscious or dead, someone can still pick up their phone and access the owner's information without their knowledge, or even access locked apps or pay for items since these can be approved with facial recognition too. This is because Google in its support page has officially warned Pixel 4 users that "your phone can be unlocked by someone who looks a lot like you, like an identical sibling". However, Google's Face Match doesn't check to make sure your eyes are open.

The Pixel 4 and 4Xl both smartphones features Motion Sense and face unlock technology based on Google's Soli radar chip.

According to BBC reporter Chris Fox, the Face Unlock mechanism works even when the device owner has their eyes shut, something that facial recognition systems are usually configured to prevent. "They are actually only two face authorization solutions that meet the bar for being super-secure".

"We don't have anything specific to announce regarding future features or timing, but like most of our products, this feature is created to get better over time with future software updates". Google has reportedly told BBC that this is how the face unlock feature will function when the Pixel 4 goes on sale. Someone get me R.L. Stine: I've got his next 21st-century Goosebumps story.
