The Gators are on their second head coach since Muschamp's exit, having replaced Jim McElwain with Dan Mullen in 2018. The embattled fourth-year Gamecock coach - whose seat got much cooler following an upset win on the road against third-ranked Georgia last week - had not won consecutive games against ranked opponents since 2012, his second season at Florida. I'm not going to comment on anything else.

SC appeared to have momentum on its side in the second half, driving deep into Florida territory with the game tied at 17 apiece. We didn't back SC - and aren't claiming it's not fair to be surprised - but Saturday's loss to the Gamecocks shouldn't be considered all that shocking.

That call came with the game well out of reach and Muschamp reiterated several times his displeasure at how the ref made that call.
