When asked about the impact of pressure on her health, a video clip from the documentary shows the emotional duchess trying to answer.

Speaking to reporter Tom Bradby for ITV's upcoming documentary Harry & Meghan: An African Journey, Meghan blinked back tears while addressing the intense focus on her life.

Harry & Meghan: An African Journey, will air on ITV on Sunday at 9pm.

"Harry is obviously very concerned about protecting you from what he felt his mother went through".

In a statement, Harry shared how his "deepest fear" was that his wife would experience the same fate his late mother Princess Diana, who was hounded by the press before her 1997 death in a vehicle crash.

Furthermore, when asked that her statement should be taken as a confirmation that she's not really okay and that it has been a struggle, an emotional Meghan responded back with a simple, "Yes".

She's asked very directly if she's OK.

While many people think that Markle's occupation as an actress would have prepared her for life in the royal family spotlight, as a 2017 interview with Markle and Prince Harry reveals, that was not the case at all. He called it "a wound that festers". "But everything I do reminds me of her", he said.:But as I said, with the role, with the job and the sort of the pressures that come with that, I get reminded of the bad stuff, unfortunately". "I lost my mother and now I watch my wife falling victim to the same powerful forces".
