Prince William and wife Kate land in Pakistan capital after aborted flight”

Prince William and Kate Middleton's plane was forced to emergency land after hitting a lightning storm during their Pakistan tour.

Later in the interview the Duchess of Cambridge said it was "amazing" to see so much of the country's geography and some of the community activities in Lahore.

The last time Kate spoke to the press was in 2010, when she and William announced their engagement.

"It's been fantastic, we've seen a lot of Pakistan", the Duchess added.

Kate Middleton and Prince William's Pakistan visit just took a detour.

The outlet reported William and Middleton started their day at the SOS Children's Village, a charity in Lahore that provides a home and family structure to over 150 children.

During that time, she's made many speeches, welcomed three children and settled in to her role as the Duchess of Cambridge, becoming a senior member of "The Firm" and helping other newcomers like Duchess Meghan adjust to their new lives.

The couple joined a cricket match with children from the British Council's DOSTI program, with both Kate and Wills appearing to bowl their young fans - and some Pakistani cricketing legends - over with their batting skills.

William and Kate have also highlighted education and the impact of climate change during their stay in Pakistan.

Catherine looked sensational as she arrived at the Badshahi Mosque, which is the most iconic Islamic site in Lahore, set in the heart of the Walled City. The Duke and Duchess went barefoot and sat down in a cross-legged position as they listened to a Quran recitation.

Surprised guests were treated to a glimpse of the royal couple on Friday morning as they left the five-star hotel. They were also given a photo book reminiscing Princess Diana's 1991 visit when she donned a similar traditional outfit. Kate and William played with dogs at the Army Canine Centre in Islamabad, joining dog handlers as they trained the dogs to scout for hidden explosive materials.

Kensington Place tweeted on Monday October 14 that the journey of the duke and duchess would "respect the historic relationship between Britain and Pakistan, but will largely focus on presenting Pakistan as it is - a dynamic, ambitious and future-oriented nation".
