Joe Biden builds widest lead in 2020 Democratic presidential race since April

Joe Biden builds widest lead in 2020 Democratic presidential race since April”

Former Vice President Joe Biden holds a 2-point lead over Sen.

As a veteran deployed to Afghanistan in 2014, Buttigieg, 37, launched his presidential campaign in April.

Mayor Pete Buttigieg of South Bend, Indiana, and Sen. Kamala Harris of California each have 6% support, with Sen.

Buttigieg has the support of 13 percent of 500 likely Democratic caucus goers, a Suffolk University/USA Today poll showed.

The spike in support for Biden comes as his campaign weathers controversy over his son Hunter Biden's business dealings in Ukraine, which have also become a focal point in the impeachment investigation against President Trump. Hunter Biden was on the board of a Ukrainian natural gas company while Biden was vice president.

"We were brought up to, this country was built on our flag, was built on our values but it seems like, and I might piss off a lot of people in this room", Dawson said. Biden also outpaces the rest of the field as most trusted on immigration (29% Biden, 16% each Warren and Sanders) and gun policy (27% vs. 13% Sanders and 11% Warren, with O'Rourke close at 9%).

Vermont Senator Bernie Sanders was place on the third position in the poll, trailing Warren by 5 percentage points.

Mr. Biden and Mr. Sanders were running even on who voters think would best handle climate change, at 26%, while Ms. Warren was at 18%.

The former vice president's advantages on the issues come as he emphasizes an approach that appears to align with the preferences of most potential Democratic voters.

Biden, Sanders and Warren will meet later this week in SC, speaking at a public forum hosted by the Bipartisan Justice Center. Elizabeth Warren, D-Mass., at 21%.

Trump's allegations do not seem to have affected support for Biden within the Democratic field, but the former vice president is now lagging in the fundraising race, having raised about $15.2 million in the third quarter compared to Sanders's $25.3 million and Warren's $24.6 million.
