Man Fatally Stabbed At Maryland Popeyes Over Chicken Sandwich”

Jennifer Donelan, the media relations director with the Prince George's County Police Department, confirmed the stabbing was the result of a fight related to the restaurant's popular chicken sandwich.

Prince George's County police said two men were waiting in line at an Oxon Hill Popeyes on Monday night when one of the men accused the other of cutting in front of him in a line specifically for ordering chicken sandwiches.

Popeyes franchisees hired more staff to cope with the return of its hit spicy chicken sandwich.

Donelan added that the incident was "extremely difficult" to put into words. Marketing around the sandwich has built a frenzy that's causing long lines and waits at the chain's restaurants.

"There was an argument that began in the restaurant. between two adult males". He died at a hospital, officials said. At some point, the victim was stabbed and the suspect fled the scene. "He knows what he did here tonight and he needs to do the right thing and he needs to step up and he needs to turn himself in", Donelan stressed.
