As WH Prepares For Public Impeachment Hearings, Fretting Most About Bill Taylor”

Jennifer Williams, a career foreign service officer and special adviser to Pence for Europe and Russian Federation, arrived at the U.S. Capitol to testify behind closed doors on Thursday morning with members of the House of Representatives Foreign Affairs, Intelligence and Oversight committees. The whistleblower complaint expressing concern about the call has been the impetus for an ongoing impeachment inquiry.

The Democratic-led inquiry hinges on whether Mr Trump pressured Ukraine on that call to investigate a rival.

According to the enclosure to Sondland's testimony posted on the House's website, the United States offered to restore military assistance to Ukraine in exchange for the personal consent of President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky to initiate an investigation into Biden, a political opponent of Donald Trump.

Bolton, who left the White House amid acrimony with Trump in September, could offer direct testimony about the president's alleged efforts to pressure Zelensky for information on the Bidens in exchange for US military aid and a meeting with the president.

Sources tell Fox News that former National Security Adviser John Bolton hasn't received a congressional subpoena and is unlikely to show up unless one is issued; Gillian Turner reports from Capitol Hill.

Trump went on to claim that the Dept. of Justice "already ruled that the call was good", which does not appear to be accurate.

Democrats are set to begin public impeachment hearings next week after a series of closed-door sessions with current and former government officials.

They are trying to determine whether Trump froze $391-million in US security assistance for Ukraine to put pressure on Zelensky to conduct the investigation, misusing USA foreign policy for his personal gain.

House Intelligence Committee Chairman Adam Schiff, D-Calif., said the no-shows could be used as "evidence to support a possible obstruction of Congress charge against the president". The claim is at odds with US intelligence findings.

William Taylor, the top USA diplomat in Ukraine, and George Kent, another career diplomat with experience in the country, will testify on November 13.

Setting the stage for the public hearings, lawmakers have been making public transcripts of the closed-door depositions.

If the Democratic-controlled House votes to impeach Trump, the Republican-controlled Senate would then hold a trial on whether to remove Trump from office.
