Celtic face a battle in Rome — UEFA Europa League”

Former Celtic striker Scott McDonald knows a thing or two about the Hoops making progression in Europe.

Rogic has been eased back into the squad following his recovery from his respective knee injury but will not be relied on despite having made a 25-minute cameo against Lazio last Thursday.

McDonald is convinced his old team will make progress to the Europa League last 32 for the third successive season - even if they lose this evening.

"The football they've been playing is phenomenal" McDonald said, as reported by BBC Sport.

This is their toughest game in the group stages and the Italian giants will be licking their wounds from their Celtic park defeat and will be keen for a quick reprisal.

Celtic fans warned not to wear their club jerseys in Rome.

That was Lazio's most recent defeat and subsequent appearances in Serie A have been impressive - victories at Fiorentina and AC Milan and a home win against Torino moved Simone Inzaghi's players to fourth place in the table, one point behind their city rivals, Roma.

With a packed Ibrox roaring on Rangers, winning would really set up a blockbuster final two games in the group as Gerrard's side look to reach the knockout phase.

Should Celtic fail to win, they still have two more good chances of picking up the needed points to secure a berth in the last-32, and it's nearly impossible to see them failing to advance.

In contrast, Celtic's travels in the competition were notoriously unproductive until they beat Rosenborg in Norway a year ago, after 18 attempts to win on the road.
